Feathers fly over deaths

SIEM Reap provincial court has summoned two economic police officials at the Ministry of Interior for questioning after a complaint was lodged by a local chicken farmer who claims they are responsible for the deaths of more than 1,000 birds. The owner of the chickens said the officials confiscated the poultry on July 3. She said that during the time the chickens were in the possession of the officials they failed to provide them with food or water, leading to their deaths. The chicken farmer is seeking US$15,000 in compensation.
