A Ministry of Health request to the Phnom Penh Municipal Government to crack
down on foreign-owned clinics has been put on hold temporarily. The Ministry of
Health issued a letter on June 11 requesting the municipality to close clinics
that did not comply with MOH regulations requiring them to have at least 20
patient beds and an 80% Cambodian staff, but later indicated that "exceptions"
to the regulations would be allowed.
