Ghosananda awarded peace prize

The Niwano Peace Foundation announced on Feb 20 that it would award the 15th Niwano

Peace Prize to the Venerable Maha Ghosananda, 68, a Supreme Patriarch of Cambodian

Buddhism, for his devotion to reconciliation among the Cambodian people and peace

activities in the world. The presentation ceremony will take place in Tokyo, Japan,

on Saturday, May 9. In addition to an award, Ghosananda will receive a medal and

20 million yen.
