A three-year-old child drowned in a pond while her parents slept in their house in Prek Kroes commune in Kampot province’s Kampong Trach district on Saturday, an official said yesterday.

Commune chief Set Chin said that Sun Rasmey drowned while playing alone in the pond after eating lunch with her parents.

“Her parents fell asleep and after they awoke, they lost their daughter. They found her at the pond near the house,” he said.
