Two soldiers of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces stationed near Preah Vihear temple died Saturday after a grenade explosion, military officials said. Colonel Meas Yoeun, deputy military commander of Preah Vihear province, said Sunday that the men, from Border Infantry Unit 404, were riding a motorbike when one man’s cap blew off. As they stopped to pick it up, a grenade fell from one of their pockets and detonated. One died at the scene, the other succumbed shortly afterwards at a military health centre. “It was their carelessness,” Meas Yoeun said.
