Japanese military cooperation

The armed forces of Japan and Cambodia have pledged to collaborate, strengthening

bilateral ties between the nations' Defense Ministries. Japanese Deputy Defense Minister

Takahide Kimura and Prime Minister Hun Sen finalized the pact August 6 in Phnom Penh,

Khmer press reported. Hun Sen also requested the Japanese train RCAF troops in rural

road construction and national emergency assistance.
