Journalists beware

Cambodia was placed on an international 'blacklist' of countries where murderers, kidnappers and torturers of journalists enjoy total impunity. The report, released on July 1 by French-based organization Reporters Without Borders, said that in 21 countries, including Cambodia, "criminals can count on the unspoken support of the government". It noted no progress in finding the killers of four local journalists between 1994-97.
