Judges nominated

United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan has sent Prime Minister Hun Sen a list of seven international judges and asked him to choose five of them to sit on the special tribunals for Cambodia's Khmer Rouge trials, the UN reported on its web site on March 8.

In 2003, the UN General Assembly approved the plan to create tribunals within Cambodia's national court structure that will contain international and Cambodian judges. No date has been set for the trials.
