King Norodom Sihanouk has announced he will travel to China for medical treatment

in January. In a statement dated December 28, the 81-year-old monarch said his Chinese

doctors were concerned about his liver illness . "The vessels on my right neck

have wilted so that blood has trouble flowing to my heart and my brain doesn't work

well," he said. Chinese doctors requested he go to Beijing immediately for examination

and treatment.
