SIEM REAP – King Norodom Sihamoni is to attend the opening of a new library and research centre at the Centre for Khmer Studies (CKS) in Siem Reap on Sunday. Construction on the library began in December 2008 and was finished last November. “Our mission is to promote teaching and research in Khmer, and Southeast Asian studies in general,” said CKS acting director Michael Sullivan.
