KR talks

The government's chief Khmer Rouge trial negotiator Sok An will leave for New York

on January 4 to re-start the stalled tribunal talks. That came after the UN General

Assembly voted overwhelmingly on December 18 to approve a resolution to re-enter

talks, after the UN pulled out of discussions on February 8, 2002. The UN's Office

of Legal Affairs has 90 days from the Assembly's vote to conclude an agreement with

Cambodia on the tribunal's

final form.
