The Council of Ministers sent a letter to UN legal chief Hans Corell asking the body

to speed up efforts to reach agreement on a future Khmer Rouge trial. A law providing

the basis for a trial was passed in August. The next step is for the UN and the government

to sign a memorandum of understanding regarding procedural issues.
