Amember of the Lao delegation visiting Cambodia died on Wednesday, April 26, just

after delivering a short speech to members of the Mekong River Commission.

Dr Kithong Vongsay, Vice President of the State Planning Committee, Chairman of the

Lao National Mekong Committee and a member of the MRC, collapsed and died despite

efforts to resuscitate him.

A spokesman for the Lao embassy said Dr Vongsay was 52. He is survived by three daughters.
