Lightning kills woman as she walks home

A 24-YEAR-OLD woman was killed by lightning on Wednesday as she walked home from a rice field in Svay Rieng province’s Svay Chrum district, police officials said yesterday. District police chief Ngin Sophal said Neang Sophy had died about 200 metres from her home in Chhoeuteal commune. “It is not the first case of lightning causing death in the district,” he said.
