One man died and another was injured when an unexploded ordnance detonated in Kampong Speu province’s Chbar Mon town on Monday, police said. Town police chief Meas Soeung said 31-year-old Tob Channa had found two pieces of UXO at a construction site and had thrown one against a tree, causing it to detonate. “The victim hit the UXO [to knock the dirt off] in an attempt to sell it to a buyer of recyclable materials,” he said, adding that Tob Channa had died on the way to a hospital. Construction worker Vong Sambath, 25, suffered a broken femur in the blast.
