Man shot in both legs in rubber plantation

Police in Kampong Cham province’s Memot district are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a man twice on Monday, after a dispute in a rubber plantation. Vong Douch, the 26-year-old victim who is recovering in hospital, said yesterday that he and five others were collecting spilt rubber sap from the plantation floor when a guard shot him in both legs. He filed a complaint with commune police asking for US$5,000, while police officials, who declined to be named, said they have identified the suspect as 31-year-old Vong Sereyvuth.
