Migrant flees captivity

A CAMBODIAN man detained in Australia for overstaying his visa escaped from authorities during a trip to a bowling alley, Australian media reported. The Age reported yesterday that the unnamed man, held at the city’s Maribyrnong Immigration Detention Centre, escaped from the centre’s security staff during a routine outing for inmates. Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Koy Kuong said Cambodia “must respect Australian actions” in the case.
