About five dozen Montagnard asylum seekers entered Cambodia during the week beginning
July 20, media agencies reported. Two men from the group received asylum from the
UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in early August. The rest are speculated
to be living in the forests of the northeast province of Mondolkiri. Many are reportedly
to have malaria.The two Montagnard refugees with UNHCR are awaiting permission from
the Ministry of Interior to enter Phnom Penh.
