A woman in Takeo province has filed a complaint with local authorities and the human rights group Adhoc accusing her nephew-in-law of raping her 13-year-old daughter and threatening her life.

“I was devastated when my niece told me that her husband had raped my daughter, so I filed a complaint with authorities and with the rights group to help arrest the offender and make him pay reparations of 10 million riels (US$2,453)."

The niece said she had caught her husband in the victim’s room last week and that he escaped out of a window, she added that she sought the help of villagers to apprehend him, but they arrived too late.
