Mekong Airlines' first plane is set to arrive here on January 20, allowing
operations to begin by the end of the month. The Boeing 737-500 will fly three
times a week between Phnom Penh, Hong Kong and Singapore. Four flights a week
will go to Kuala Lumpur, and 12 are planned to Siem Reap. The airline's
commercial manager Ross Pollock said the company was awaiting final approval
from local civil aviation authorities and other airport authorities before
flights would commence, but felt it should be within a few days.
