Australia has appointed Ms Louise Hand as the new Ambassador to Cambodia to replace

Dr Malcolm Leader, who has been in the position since October 1997.

Ms Hand is currently Assistant Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs and

Trade, Arms Control and Disarmament Branch.

Ms Hand is fluent in French. She is married with two children.

Australia is the second largest bilateral aid donor to Cambodia.
