The Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) announced on

July 11 that it will open a Phnom Penh branch within two years.

The announcement came at a launching ceremony for a temporary office in the capital

where they will collect information until a bank branch will be opened.

The bank plans to offer accounts in both US dollars and Vietnamese dong.

Nguyen Thi Kim Phong, deputy governor of the State Bank of Vietnam said Agribank

would strengthen economic cooperation with Cambodia.

Eighteen banks currently operate in the Kingdom.
