New Briefs: Anti-Dengue Powder

Cambodia's National Hygiene and Epidemilogy Centre (CNHE) now has available an insecticide

that when used in water jars and tanks destroys the larvae of tiger mosquitoes responsible

for the transmission of Dengue Fever.

May to October are the prime months for the incidence of Dengue fever. Called "ABATE"

the product is being sold by CNHE for 20 cents for a 20 gram pack of one percent

sand granules. CNHE says that 20 grams is sufficient to kill
