A new edition of the Bible in Khmer should now be in bookstores around Phnom Penh,
according to a May 30 letter from Yves Ramousse, the bishop of the Apostolic Vicariat
of Phnom Penh. The fruit of 10 years work, the Bibles were to be handed over on June
5 in the presence of the Universal Biblical Alliance and the Biblical Society of
Cambodia, Ramousse wrote in a letter to the King republished in the latest edition
of his Royal bulletin. The first copy of a bible in Khmer was reportedly given to
the King back in 1954.
