The first group of 125 immigration officers graduated on April 3 from the first stage
of a program designed to improve their technical capabilities. The project, launched
recently by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), trains officers in
English, migration law, security and fraud detection. IOM also hopes to install a
comprehensive network of computers at the immigration department by year-end in a
bid to bring the country in line with other countries in the region.
