FORESTRY officials from Siem Reap province’s Varin District say they will take legal action against soldiers who allegedly shot at them on Saturday during a logging crackdown. Tea Kimsoth, director of the provincial Forestry Administration, said he would sue soldiers Rom Sa Eam and Roeun Sarim, accusing them of firing a K-54 pistol and breaking the side mirror of the FA’s Toyota Camry. Provincial prosecutor Ty Soveinthal said he had collected reports from military police for examination. Suspect Rom Sa Eam said he hoped officials would solve the case “outside court”, since they had worked together “for more than 10 years”.
