One woman died and eight others were injured – three seriously – when some fireworks exploded while being transported in a van in Kampong Cham province yesterday afternoon, said Am Sophal, deputy police chief of Ponhea Krek district.

“We are investigating the cause of the explosion, but based on the preliminary observation, it was caused by the carelessness of the driver, who packaged the fireworks improperly in the van,” he said.
