Hul Phany has been appointed Ambassador to Myanmar. He will take up the position

in place of the original appointee, sacked city governor Chea Sophara, who will stay

in Phnom Penh as an advisor to PM Hun Sen. The popular ex-governor was fired by Hun

Sen after the Thai riots. Phany was director of protocol at the Ministry of Foreign

Affairs.
