PM Hun Sen angrily rejected a suggestion from the former executive director of

the Khmer Institute for Democracy, Dr Lao Mong Hay, that Cambodia have an interim

government in the three-month lead-up to national elections. Hun Sen said such a

move would amount to a coup and be unconstitutional. Mong Hay apologized and denied

any such implication.
