Prime Minister Hun Sen warned consumers on Jan 17 to stop eating pork imported from
Thailand amid fears the animals are infected with "mad pig disease", better
known as the nipah virus. Though no cases of the mystery disease have been discovered,
Ministry of Health officials are testing pork from Phnom Penh markets.
