Police seek identity of man found in bag

District police are still trying to identify a the body of a man found floating in a plastic bag beneath the Krala Bridge, in Banteay Meanchey province’s Mongkol Borei district, on Friday morning.

Hor Samnab, Mongkol Borei district’s deputy police chief, urged villagers to come forward with information.

He said the victim, estimated to be about 20, was wearing jeans and a long-sleeved shirt with a small stripe on it.

“According to our judgment, this is a murder case because the victim had many bruises and the criminal wanted to eliminate evidence by putting the body in a plastic bag and dumping it into the water,” he said.
