Prisoners released to mark Visak Bochea

The King has approved the release of 19 prisoners and reduced the sentences of another 153 to mark today’s celebration of Visak Bochea day. Kuy Bunsan, director general of the prison department at the Interior Ministry, said yesterday that the prisoners had served at least two thirds of their sentences. The King can pardon prisoners three times a year at Khmer New Year, Visak Bochea and Water Festival.
