Three human rights NGOs have accused the government of failing to meet its human rights obligations.

In a submission to the United Nations Human Rights Council, currently in session in Geneva, the Cambodian Human Rights and Development Association (Adhoc), the Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defence of Human Rights (Licadho) and the Asian Forum on Human Rights and Development (Forum-Asia) decried what they say is continued lack of independence of the judiciary and legislature in Cambodia.

They further highlighted several repressive new laws they said are likely to be used to target opposition politicians or other government critics.
