Rural development is vital for poverty eradication in Cambodia as well as to reduce migration to urban areas, Minister of Rural Development Chea Sophara said during the ministry’s annual conference on Wednesday. “The government has secured US$32 million for the ministry … to build infrastructure in rural areas, as well as homes, sanitation systems, schools, bridges, healthcare centres, markets and monasteries,” he said.
