Saving Angkor

The United States and Cambodia signed an agreement aimed at protecting Angkorian

artifacts. The agreement will extend the regulation signed in 1999 which prohibits

the importation of ancient stone artifacts. The new agreement will extend the prohibition

to metal and ceramic objects. The new agreement was signed in September but announced

for the first time in Washington, DC on November 19.
