SRP activist killed

SRP activist Ty Sovann, 27, was shot dead February 11 after toasting the SRP's performance

in the commune elections. SRP secretary-general Eng Chhay Eang said the killing was

politically motivated. The alleged killer, Major Som Sophy, has not yet been arrested,

but the local police chief said he had requested that the court issue an arrest warrant

and hoped to receive it soon.
