SRP wants probe into activist's death

Sam Rainsy Party Secretary General Ke Sovannaroth has asked the Ministry of Interior to investigate the death of a party activist who was killed in Prey Veng province last month while allegedly using batteries to electrocute fish. The activist, Buor Bourn was shot dead last Saturday by Rous Voeun, the chief of nearby Tanal village, who said he was cracking down on illegal fishing. Pim Samnang, the SRP’s representative in Prey Veng, alleged a “political motive” was behind the killing.
