The Swedish government's aid arm, SIDA, has given $580,000 to help fund the general

election scheduled for 27 July. The money will go through the UN Development Programme

and fund the activities of the National Election Committee (NEC). The new grant brings

total Swedish funding for the 2003 election to $900,000.
