Three Chinese nationals were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking at Phnom Penh International Airport on Saturday, according to deputy municipal police chief Born Sam Ath.
Sam Ath said their arrests were the result of a tip-off that came from a fellow Chinese national who had been arrested the day before with four kilograms of drugs and a handgun in Chroy Changvar district.
The arrests came as part of a wider crackdown by Phnom Penh police against the city’s drug dealers, triggered by calls for action at the Ministry of Interior’s annual drug conference at the beginning of last week.
