Surya Subedi, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in Cambodia, has welcomed the government’s acceptance of the 91 recommendations handed down by the UN Human Rights Council following the country’s first rights review. “This demonstrates the public commitment of the Government of Cambodia to pursue its efforts to build a functioning system of the rule of law guided by international human rights norms,” Subedi said in a statement Monday.
