UNESCO to celebrate listing of S-21 archives

THE United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation and the Ministry of Culture will today celebrate the one-year anniversary of the listing of the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum Archives in the Memory of the World International Register, UNESCO’s Phnom Penh office said Friday. The ceremony, to be held at the museum, “will foster reflections on collective memory and raise awareness and bring attention to the importance of preserving and protecting our documentary heritage that memorialises our past”, the office said in a statement.
