US cash for opposition

A provision in a bill before the US Congress would direct as much as $7 million to

"democratic opposition parties in Cambodia" if it is passed later this

month. The money is likely to be funneled to NGOs and other organizations associated

with political parties in Cambodia. It is part of a much larger appropriations bill

being considered by US lawmakers once they reconvene in January.
