The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology issued a warning on Monday evening, advising citizens living in coastal regions as well as on the northeast plateau to exercise caution as a low pressure front descends on Cambodia from the South China Sea. A statement said the front will cause heavy rains and small storms while raising water levels in the Mekong river until Friday. The low pressure system had emerged from an “intertropical convergence zone”, it added.
