Persistence pays off for bag-snatch duo, almost

Police arrested two men in the capital’s Daun Penh district on Monday after they allegedly attempted – with mixed success – to snatch two purses outside of a movie theatre.

The scene was crowded outside of the theatre when they first struck, but they couldn’t make a clean swipe, according to police, who said the suspects came around and tried again, this time managing to get away with a woman’s purse as she exited her car.

However, cinema security intervened and detained the pair until police arrived. DEUM AMPIL
