Alleged thief manages to tick off army, uncle

Both stealing from family and selling weaponry stolen from the military are pretty grave offences, but one very gutsy suspect in Phnom Penh’s Por Sen Chey district was arrested for allegedly doing both on Tuesday.

When police caught wind of the man’s intention to sell an AK-47, they sent an undercover officer posing as a buyer, police said. After being arrested while making the sale, the man admitted he stole the rifle from his uncle, who is an officer in the military. KOH SANTEPHEAP
