Attempted thief bashed, arrested, hospitalised

An opportunistic moto-thief was hospitalised in the early hours of yesterday morning, after his intended victim’s screams for assistance were answered with unbridled enthusiasm by locals.

The vehicle’s owner – a motodop – noticed the 20-year-old trying to steal his bike, and called out for help.

Bystanders proceeded to batter the would-be thief until police arrived and sent the thief to hospital.

Police say they will question the suspect when he recovers.
