A young construction worker in Kandal may have prompted more gossip than he prevented when he attacked a man with an axe for talking about him behind his back on Wednesday.

According to police, the two men were drinking with neighbours when the worker allegedly lashed out at the man, who he said had told people that the builder had become rich, not by working hard, but by selling his parents’ land. The alleged assailant is still at large. Koh Santepheap
