Bag snatch puts duo in the market for court date

Bag snatch puts duo in the market for court date

A trip to the market turned into a court summons for a pair of bag thieves in Kandal province’s Khsach Kandal district on Monday.

The 25-year-old farmer and 32-year-old maid apparently arrived by motorbike and made off with a vendor’s handbag while she was distracted. With $200 stuffed inside, the victim quickly noticed, and alerted market staff and police in time to nab the culprits.

The woman got her bag back, while the thieves had their bike confiscated and were handed a date with a local judge. RASMEI KAMPUCHEA
