Bag thief beaten, bag stolen in ensuing chaos

A bag snatcher was arrested outside a Phnom Penh supermarket on Saturday after a valiant guard chased him down.

The man, 31, had grabbed a woman’s purse while she was paying for some items at the market before fleeing the scene.

A security guard gave chase, however, and apprehended him. In a twist of irony, as local residents flocked to the scene and began pummeling the thief, the woman’s bag disappeared amid the ruckus. Koh Santepheap
