A 25-year-old farmer in Battambang really dodged a bullet – or, more accurately, a mortar shell – while ploughing his field on Sunday.

Spotting a few of the unexploded rounds in the freshly dug furrows, the man reported the find to police, who called in demining experts.

All in all, 42 mortar shells were uncovered and safely hauled off by officials.
